Food from around the world

Food and cooking bring people together. They are often an expression of care and hospitality.

Many of the interviewees associate the concept of home with food. Thoughts of the flavours and smells of childhood, the preparation of often regional dishes by loved ones and eating together at a beautifully decorated table trigger emotions and memories. Certain traditions, rules and rituals create cohesion and cultural identification. They have an effect across generations and long distances.

A number of contemporary witnesses have provided us with their family recipes, such as beetroot soup or apple strudel. Can you find out which country they come from?
