There are historical periods of relative continuity and those in which millions suddenly set off in search of a better life. In the present day, migration is rapidly changing historical ties and cultural traditions. Arrival and departure, enrichment and loss lie close together. Urban and increasingly also rural areas are changing. Such processes create areas of tension between a welcoming culture, enrichment and excessive demands.

Our special thanks go to the people who supported us in the project, shared their personal experiences of immigration and integration with us and, above all, agreed to present them to the public. We are continuing to collect and are touring the district with a mobile exhibition. The biographical text panels and participation opportunities are intended to provide food for thought and give rise to discussion. Participation is expressly encouraged!
